Revenues in the Balancing Mechanism (BM) are calculated by aggregating the volume and price data of each accepted asset, on a settlement period basis. We use data provided by ELEXON's Balancing Mechanism Reporting Service (BMRS).

Bid-Offer-Acceptance volumes (MWh) are multiplied by the accepted bid/offer prices (£/MWh) to determine revenues. A schedule is created across the month of each Balancing Mechanism Unit (BMU) that participated in the BM. Using Modo's asset database, we map these IDs to the assets included in our Leaderboard.
