We've got some (more) big improvements to the Leaderboard!
What's the same?
On the first of every month, you'll be able to log into the Modo platform and see the Leaderboard, just like you do now.
So what's new?
Now, on the 5th business day of every month, you'll be able to see our new Even Better Leaderboard, which has gone through enhanced verification. This means that we include even more data into the Leaderboard calculations, and makes it (even more) accurate.
Why do we need to wait?
Two of the datasets we use to give the most accurate calculations for the enhanced verification process are only available 5 business days after the month's end, and only on weekdays. These are the:
BMU metered volume data (the P114 dataset).
Grid frequency data at 1Hz granularity from National Grid ESO.
These datasets are used in the state of charge management column, the imbalance column, and the throughput column.
So, until we have all of the data we need, estimates will use:
Historic frequency data. This will be taken from the corresponding month's frequency data from the previous year.
Physical notifications (and bid offer acceptance data) rather than actual meter values for power flows for Balancing Mechanism registered assets.
This is what we do now, so there'll be no change to the numbers you can see on the 1st of each month.
We'll wait until the 5th business day, until we have the full picture, to publish our monthly Leaderboard and Benchmark articles.
Let us know what you think!
