What the AI Analyst does

The AI Analyst is Modo Energy’s AI-powered assistant built into the Terminal. You can ask it questions about power markets, battery energy storage, and the data available in the Terminal. It’s designed to help you quickly find information, understand market dynamics, and get insights without needing to navigate through multiple pages.

How to access the AI Analyst

Click the arrow icon in the top right corner of the Terminal to open the AI Analyst panel. A chat interface will appear where you can type your questions.

What you can ask the AI Analyst

The AI Analyst can help with questions like:

  • Market explanations (“How does the GB ancillary services market work?”)

  • Data queries (“What were BESS revenues in Australia's National Electricity Market last month?”)

  • Comparisons (“How do BESS Revenues in ERCOT compare to Great Britain?”)

  • Definitions (“What is FCAS?”)

Tips for better answers

To get the most useful responses:

  • Be specific about the market or region you’re asking about

  • Include time periods if you’re asking about data (“in Q3 2024”)

  • Ask one question at a time for clearer answers

  • Follow up if you need more details on any part of the response

Getting the right type of answer:

  • If you're looking for Modo's published research, phrase your question as "What has Modo Energy written about..." — this helps the AI Analyst search our research library more effectively

  • If you want the AI Analyst to pull live data from the API, tell it explicitly — for example, "Use the API to show me ERCOT revenues for October"

Limitations

AI Analyst draws on Modo Energy's proprietary data and published research. It can only answer questions about topics we've already covered — if we haven't written about it, AI Analyst won't have the answer.

As with any AI, responses may occasionally be inaccurate. If you're unsure about something, check with our team.
