Creating a custom index

What are custom indices and how do I create one?

Updated over a month ago

Great Britain and ERCOT have 3 indices each:

  • A main index which contains revenues for all battery durations

  • Just 1 hour batteries

  • 2 hour batteries only

We understand that you might want to analyse battery revenues according to a different criteria, such as a battery's region or the owner. You can now do this by creating your own custom index.

How can I create a custom index?

  1. In the Indices & Benchmark section of the navigation, click on the 'Plus' (+) icon

  2. Select a region

    1. If you want to look at GB batteries, specify whether you want to include non-BMUs - Read more on this here

  3. Add batteries to your index, either by typing a battery name into the search or by filtering the results

Filter batteries to add into your custom index by region, owner or duration.

  4. Choose your line color and format

  5. Decide whether you want this index to be accessed by everyone in your account or just you

  6. Add a name and wait for the index to process

Where can I find my index?

  • Once your index has finished calculating, you can access it from the list on your Indices Overview page.

  • Click on the star next to the index name to add it to the main chart.

  • Open the index to view a breakdown of revenues and specific assets. If you want to access it regularly, save it as a bookmark.

  • If you want to make any changes to your index you will need to delete and re-add it.
