Overview of the Modo Terminal

A quick intro to different sections of the Modo Terminal, and top tips for navigation.

Updated over a year ago

The Modo Terminal has five primary sections:

Each of these sections can be found in the left-hand navigation of the Terminal.

Here's a quick explanation of what you can find in each section:

Indices

Our Indices measure revenue performance for grid-scale battery energy storage. This section includes:

  • Modo Energy BESS Indices

  • Custom Indices

For each region, there is an index or benchmark that contains revenues from all battery durations. For GB and ERCOT there is also an index with just 1 hour or 2 hour systems, helping you analyse against your assets more accurately.

Read our methodology for more information on our Indices.

Alternatively, you might want to analyse battery revenues according to a different criteria, such as zone or owner. To do this, you need to create a custom index. Read more on these here.

Forecasts

There are two ways you can access forecasts from Modo Energy's model. If you want to see how different criteria such as location, duration or daily cycles impact revenues, take a look at the BESS Revenue library. More on this here.

If you have a specific asset in mind, you can create your own revenue forecast - learn more about creating your own forecast.

To learn more about our forecasts, we recommend you look at our methodology for GB and ERCOT.
